Hi!

I am quite wondering on file restrictions/permissions here. Is there a way that a user will land on his/her INITIAL DIRECTORY yet can still access say a COMMON DIRECTORY?

I may want to say, have a common folder for all, then an exclusive directory for a specific user.

this is what my structure looks like:


--->COMMON FOLDER
--->USERS HOME DIRECTORY

Initially, when a user logs in, he/she will be directed to his/her home directory or department directory, YET, still, he/she can access the COMMON FOLDER back.

I have noticed that when I configured the user's home directory, and initial directory, there is no way accessing the COMMON FOLDER and it returns an ---ERROR--- Unauthorized


Any suggestions?

Set the HOME directory to Documents.

The HOME Directory is a bit like the UNIX chroot, so if you set Home directory to HRD, that becomes the Root for that user.
