Hi, my Owl 0.94 20070205 installation has been running fine for months/years and all of a sudden we have the following issue.

When I click on the 'Download/View This File' icon link I get a 'File not found' error. Seems to happen for all files (I tried a few). For ex.:

File not found

Firefox can't find the file at www.bewfcss.ab.ca/owl/download.php?sess=...tname=ASC&id=55.

This is logged in as the admin and I can upload files fine.

Not sure if something changed on the web host. Any help/advice on what to check would be most appreciated.

Sounds like something happened to your physical files in Documents file structure. Are the files there? was you Documents Directory moved?

The files are there including the file I just uploaded fine but get the same 'file not found' error when I try to view.

The file permissions are 777 (all permissions).

What else should I check?

If you can upload a file, and it shows up with all the Old ones, and the file you are trying to view / download exist in the correct location then I don't know what else.. I would have to take a look on your machine.

After some research I think the issue is because the host was moved from Linux based to Windows (IIS) based. Does OWL work on windows IIS based hosting?

I also tried to install the latest stable version and am running into an error about /tmp not being available which makes me wonder if getting OWL to work on Windows will require some tender loving care (TLC).

Yes it works on IIS, but the File Location as defined in the owl.php file usually require the Drive Letter C: included in FileDir, and you will have to change the location of the OwlTmpDir.

Other than that should work I think...

I know of customers running in Windows / IIS environment.

Outstanding. Is there a document I can take a look at for windows installation?

How do I change OwlTmpDir? Is that in a PHP file somewhere or in the database?

The tmpdir is in prefs table, and the install instructions are the same, but you need to consider Windows Paths Vs. Unix Path.
